Merry–Go–Round Youth Theatre
Throughout the school year, the Merry-Go-Round Youth Theatre is visiting Stonehedge and staging a performance for each grade level. Last week, the third-graders saw a performance of the Chinese folktale The Magic Paintbrush. The actors first visited the classrooms and introduced students to the language, characters, settings and type of story.
The classes then went to the cafeteria and were surrounded by the characters and scenery as they watched the play. By the looks on their faces, they enjoyed it very much! Thank you to Mr. Davern and the Fine Arts Department for arranging these experiences for our school.
Morning Announcements
At the start of each day, students who are celebrating their birthday recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the Stonehedge Pledge over the public address system and those celebrating their special day are wished a Happy Birthday by our library aide, Mrs. Eichhorn.
Fun in the Snow
Students have scheduled playtime every day and weather permitting, go outside to have some fun. On a recent afternoon, the third-, fourth- and fifth-graders played in the snow and made a giant snowball. Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately to play outside in the cold weather.
Student Council
Stonehedge Elementary Student Council is anxious to start a number of student clubs. The most popular club ideas are Newspaper & Photo Club, Science Club, Cooking Club, Lego Club and Sports Club. We need parent volunteers to advise and help run these clubs. Clubs can meet before or after school and run for a just a few weeks or a few months. If you are interested helping to run a club please contact Mr. Suddaby at 487-4631 for more information and a Volunteer Application Form.
Chorus at the Crunch
We hope to see many of you at the War Memorial on Saturday night as our own Stonehedge Chorus sings at the Syracuse Crunch Game.
